User Reviews for Redbank Wines Pinot Grigio the Long Paddock

Winemaker's Notes:

The harvest season in Victoria was quite varied in 2008 with some areas receiving average to above average rainfall from winter to early summer, others received much less than average. The grapes for this wine were selected from a number of regions: this diversity of vineyard resource has enabled Redback to craft a wine which showcases the varietal flavours of Pinot Grigio. The grapes were hand picked and then held in a cold room for 18 hours, before being whole bunch pressed to ensure minimal colour pick up from the slightly pink skins. The juice was then clarified before a cool fermentation which retained the fresh and natural flavours of this stylish and exotic grape variety. This wine is clean, pale straw with green hues. It is light to medium bodied with a mouth-watering, crunchy citrus mid-palate balanced with fruit sweetness and minerality. Aromas of stone fruits combined with fresh spices, herbs and nashi pears and lifted fresh florals of white flowers. Goes perfectly with Tempura Prawns or any other seafood or white meat dish and a glass or two tastes just great by itself.
