Red Splash St Francis Winery Sonoma 2008
Very floral and cherry nose . Sweet beginning and spicy finish. Hints of chocolate and cherry. Very drinkable and great value.
2008 vintage, pushing full bodied, dark red with plenty of flavor and a touch of menthol and oak. 5 years old and still needs to cellar. A bit sweet.

Here's another of these delightful red blends we're seeing more and more of out of California. This one comes from St. Francis in Sonoma and it's all Sonoma County fruit. It's a tantalizing blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Syrah, Cabernet Franc and Old Vine Zinfandel that's aged 18 months in oak and then 8 months in the bottle for a soft, supple mouthfeel. Food & Wine Magazine called it "One of the Best American Wines under $15" and the San Francisco Chronicle named it a "Top 5 Hearty Red $15 and under".
