Jammy on the nose with deep notes of plum, currant and a whack of vanilla oak all topped with plenty of cracked black pepper. Pretty well balanced in the mouth though this lacks a little cohesiveness. The fruit is a bit mild compared to the nose and shows decent freshness and some nice blue streaks along with notes of pepper and herb. The tannins are fairly soft though the acidity seems to be the disjointed culprit. A crowd pleaser, with a fairly long if slightly sticky finish. 85pts

Pretty standard australian shiraz. Very drinkable, but nothing surprising here.

Right off the bat you see a deep magenta color in the glass. Fragrant aromas of blackberry and black forest cake with hints of citrus blossom and subtle cashew oak fill the nose. The textured, dark berry fruit palate is alive with black pepper and licorice nuances. Chewy tannins coat the tongue and define the long, lingering finish.

Colour: Deep red with youthful purple tints.Aromas: Powerful ripe strawberry and blackberry aromas and added complexity with hints of spice, chocolate and savory American oak.Flavours: The sweet strawberry mid palate is balanced with fresh acidity and lingering richly toasted oak. A full bodied wine with luscious fruit that is enticing in its youth, but will also reward 2-3 years in the cellar.
Firm, with tart balance to the rhubarb and blackberry flavors, finishing bright. Drink now through 2008.
