Red Bicyclette Pinot Noir 2008
Our 2008 Red Bicyclette Pinot Noir was sourced from the Languedoc Roussillon region in Southern France. The 2008 Pinot Noir grapes were crushed and destemmed, and then fermented in upright stainless steel tanks and rotary fermenters at moderate to warm temperatures (22‐28° C or 72‐82° F). About 20% of the wine underwent whole cluster fermentation. After primary fermentation was complete, the wine went through malolactic fermentation to soften the acidity and help balance out the tannins. Around 6% of the wine was aged for two months in heavy toasted French oak, which imparted soft, generous cinnamon flavors to the wine. The components were then blended, filtered, and cold‐stabilized for bottling.
I'm not a big P.N. fan to begin with, and this bottle did nothing to change my mind. Almost no aroma to this wine. Some slight cherry flavors at the begging, but with an uncomfortable bitterness on the back-end that really put me off. I'm really disappointed.
Full of cherry flavor. Mild body is easy on the palette. Delicious for the price.
Good luck finding it since the scam Several parties in the Languedoc have been formally charged with selling millions of euros of fake Pinot Noir to Ernest
For the price? This is a terrific pinot noir. Like stiffa said above, it is easy on the palette and has a delicious burst of flavor. I took a bottle to a dinner party the other night and the bottle was gone fairly quickly. A lovely wine you can feel confident will be well received in casual company.
