Recline Ridge Sigerrebe 2010

Member Review by zufrieden:

Growing grapes in the marginal wine marches of Salmon Arm BC is not a sure thing, and Recline Ridge deserves kudos for their efforts. Siegerrebe - a cross variety no longer that well received in its land of origin - is known to overpower with everything but elegance and finesse. However, at the latitude of this vineyard (just under 51 degrees north), the champion pumpkin-sized aroma is muted and sugar is down so the wine makes an easy summer sipper and was a crowd pleasing number at a recent tasting. A slightly bitter finish with a hint of brown sugar going down. Hard to tame this tiring monster grape, but this is as good as it gets. Chill to 13 degrees (C) and enjoy. 84 points.
