Located in Israel’s Hefer Valley, the Recanati Winery is a showcase winemaking facility, equipped with the most innovative technology available today. Owned by Lenny Recanati, a native of Israel with ancestral roots stretching back to Italy, the winery is the fruit of Lenny’s life-long dream to produce truly world-class wines. Chief winemaker is Gil Shatsberg, a graduate of the U.C. Davis wine program. Formerly a winemaker at Israel’s Amphorae and Carmel wineries, Gil brings to Recanati proven expertise in his field, allied to a devotion to artistry and craftsmanship in winemaking. Recanati Shiraz is specifically produced to be “mevushal” – keeping it kosher, regardless of who serves it, an important consideration for kosher caterers and restaurants. Production Area Grapes for this Syrah are cultivated in the Upper Galilee region of Israel, which benefits from a Mediterranean climate. Grape Varieties 100% Shiraz Vinification Select grapes are hand-harvested in whole clusters to maintain maximum flavor and aroma. Immediately following a gentle crush, the must undergoes traditional maceration and fermentation. The resulting wine is then transferred to French and American oak barrels where it ages for twelve months before bottling and release. The wine is flash-pasteurized by an in-line procedure and then immediately cooled to normal bottling temperature (about 65°F). Color Deep ruby red Bouquet A complex bouquet reveals layers of raspberry and plum intertwined with traces of black pepper, nutmeg and mocha Taste Full-bodied and rich, with robust flavor of ripe berries and spice against a background of smooth tannins Serving Suggestions A perfect match with roasts, grilled meats, hearty stews and aged cheeses.

Diamond Series Shiraz 2010 - 90 points & Best Buy, Wine Enthusiast/ Scents of licorice root, bramble and a soft menthol note grace this balanced Shiraz’s black cherry, raspberry and boysenberry fruit. This is medium weight, with moderate tannins and an approachable structure. A note of roasted espresso bean and a hint of chicory carry through the long finish. Mevushal.

Diamond Shiraz 2012 - 87 points, Wine Enthusiast/ This fresh, easy-drinking wine offers aromas of black cherry and green bell pepper, followed by flavors of lightly cooked cherry and blueberry, pomegranate, anise, orange zest and a hint of bell pepper. Sheathed in soft tannins, the finish is a tad savory, with a bright, fruity splash.
