When we try to describe this wine, we come up with words like lush, rich, dense, concentrated. Hearty. A wine that can bring out the best in grilled game and steak, same as it can with other bold dishes like stews and spiced-up pastas. We blended a small amount of Cabernet Franc, Petite Sirah, Petite Verdot and Merlot to this vintage to bring about rich aromatics and plump up the mid-palate. We also aged the wine in French and American oak barrels that encouraged cedar and vanilla fragrances to develop. What we ended up with is a dark, garnet colored wine with a fruit-driven nose that hints at ripe black cherry, plum, tobacco and vanilla spice. On the palate, the mouth-filling fruit is balanced by smooth tannins. Look for a lingering vanilla oak sweetness. That's what we think, anyway. Taste for yourself. - WineryVarietals95% Cabernet Sauvignon2% Cabernet Franc1% Petite Sirah1% Petite Verdot1% MerlotOak: 10 months in 88% French oak barrelsAlcohol: 13.9%T.A.: .62/100 mLpH: 3.67
Rich, dense, layered. Mountain berries, cedar and vanilla spice fill the nose. Heaps of black cherry and blueberry please the palate. Like a twelve-point buck, this Cab is stately, sturdy and impressive. - Winery ** SOLD OUT **
