Excellent, beautifully balanced wine. Smooth apple, pear, and citrus aromas and flavors. Oak-kissed finish (50% of juice spends 2 mos. in French oak). Rich without being woody, and luscious without too much cream. Retains its freshness. Very nice.

Pretty good Chard, rich and creamy, with a vanilla custard thickness balanced by bright acidity. The flavors? Ripe and full, including pineapples, guavas, peaches and dusty spices.

With crushed pineapple flavors enhanced with a bit of oak, this wine gets the tastebuds watering. It has fine balance, elegance and varietal character. The winemaker recommends poached salmon, which, with a sprig of dill and a squirt of lemon, seems perfect.

I suggest this wine for those who like a full, round, well-balanced, oak-tinged Chardonnay - typical Napa style. This one has the body and buttery mouthfeel we love in a California Chardonnay. Excellent value - you'll want to buy this one by the case.

Raymond makes some of the best value wines coming out of the Napa Valley these days. Its Reserve Chardonnay is a perfect example. If this were 10 years ago, when Chardonnay still held much sway, the wine would be double the price. So, thrifty consumers, pay particular attention to this Chardonnay. The nose is full of ripe Comice pear and sweet Crenshaw melon; while on the palate, everythings here for a well-made, extremely satisfying wine. Its balanced, possesses ripe, juicy fruit, and has a goodly wash of acidity. Its fairly light and crisp and very food friendly, particularly with citrus-based salads.

There's an earthiness to this Chard, reminiscent of sweet fresh sage, along with savory flavors of oranges, pineapples and vanilla. It's a nice, easy wine for drinking now.
