Raymond Chardonnay R 2006

Member Review by John Andrews:

Served very cold so aromas were muted. Slight aroma of corn nuts ... Lemon zest, good acidity, mineral qualities, and some oak.

Lemon zest on the nose - this wine evolves into a medium bodied, well balanced, oaky, yet not overoaked, nice example of a Napa Chardonnay. Very nice for the price, and not too buttery.

I guess oak is in the eye of the beholder. Citrus and apple flavors overwhelmed by oak for me. Definitely a CA Chard.

Wine Tasting NotesOpens with toasty aromas of vanilla bean, baked pears and a hint of cantaloupe. In the mouth it offers a medley of harmonious flavors, orange zest, caramel, golden delicious apples, jasmine and lemon. This Chardonnay is beautifully balanced with crisp acidity and an elegant lingering finish.
