Ravines Wine Cellars Red Bordeaux Blend Keuka Lake Meritage 2005
Meritage is made from the traditional Bordeaux grape varietals Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Merlot. These varietals are then blended into a fuller, more complex and interesting wine. Aged in toasty French oak barrels, this robust wine shows great fruit intensity and is well suited to cellar ageing. The soft, ripe tannins make Meritage easy to enjoy with many different types of foods. This Bordeaux blend is light on its feet, with spicy anise liquor aromas that lead into fresh strawberry and raspberry fruit in the mouth. The medium, mouthwatering finish has a dusting of powdery tannins. A good complement to roast pork. Drink now to 2011.
