Ravines Wine Cellars Red Bordeaux Blend Keuka Lake Meritage 2005
Meritage is made from the traditional Bordeaux grape varietals Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Merlot. These varietals are then blended into a fuller, more complex and interesting wine. Aged in toasty French oak barrels, this robust wine shows great fruit intensity and is well suited to cellar ageing. The soft, ripe tannins make Meritage easy to enjoy with many different types of foods. Layered and supple, black cherry and currant flavors with hints of tobacco and pepper.Cheese Pairings: Banon, Epoisses, MorbierFood Pairings: Turkey Burgers with Brie and Arugula, Grilled Duck, Roasted or Grilled Chicken

This Bordeaux blend is light on its feet, with spicy anise liquor aromas that lead into fresh strawberry and raspberry fruit in the mouth. The medium, mouthwatering finish has a dusting of powdery tannins. A good complement to roast pork. Drink now to 2011.
A traditional Meritage, dominated by Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc with Merlot in tow. Smoothly tannic with nice toasty wood overtones, this wine proves that Bordeaux-style reds can be made in the Finger Lakes.
This shows more depth and refinement than most reds from the region, with solid red currant, damson plum and black cherry fruit flavors laid over a sleek, fine-grained structure. Offers tangy herb and mineral hints. Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Merlot. Drink now through 2011.
