Ravines Pinot Rose Dry 2012
Ravines Wine Cellars is a boutique winery on the hillside of glacier-carved Keuka Lake in the Finger Lakes region of Upstate New York. We produce fine, dry European-style wines: wines with character, balance and a sense of place.
Light, delicate notes of honeysuckle and faint vanilla... beautiful wine.
great attempt at a dry provence rose. the color and mouthfeel is bordering on a white wine. reminds me of white pinot champagne. very terroir driven as if i'm drinking straight from rocky soil. not much fruit but an obvious sour strawberry element. like warheads. great for nighttime summer sipping.
Went to Ravine's Open House wine tasting last Monday and sampled all of their wine. This is my fav (torn between the Cerise and this). The presentation of the rose colored wine in the tall, elegant bottle with the well designed label peaked my interest. A dry wine, with that light feeling of a Pinot Noir, will be a wonderful summer wine!
