Ravines Chard Finger Lake Kueka 2009

Member Review by CageyT:

A simply elegant, not oak-y, not too buttery Finger Lakes chard. Liquid poetry and place.

A Burgundian Chardonnay from the Finger Lakes that shows lovely, nuanced orchard fruit on the nose and delightful plumpness on the palate. The wine is nicely balanced and a delightful rendition of the grapes.

A touch of Pouilly Fuissé in the Finger Lakes in this classically balanced Chardonnay with dried apricot, pear, hazelnut and mineral nuances.

A silver medal winner in the New York Food & Wine Classic, this dry white displays fresh fruit flavors of melon, citrus and pear, accented by notes of toast and rich hazelnut. A light, buttery nuance will make this wine the perfect accompaniment to chicken in a light mushroom based cream sauce.

Soft and buttery, with good pear and apple fruit. The buttery edge takes over on the finish, but this stays fresh enough.

This Chardonnay has depth, starting with its unfolding nose of ripe Chardonnay fruit, minerals, hazelnut and citrus. The palate offers flavors of pear, citrus and grapefruit, its character refreshing and fruity but somewhat complex. An impressive white that can handle richer dishes.
