Thought it would be a great value wine. It came up a little short. Not what i expected out of a Zin and found the bottle recently for $6. Something has to be wrong.

This is Ravenswood's introductory Zinfandel. A full-bodied red with black berry fruit, cherries and pepper aromas. If you like this Zin, try the rest of their line of wines and you'll see the family resemblance.

I really do gravitate towards this label, but its not that I think its great, its because its a good value, and there are times in certain situations when this really does come through, but it is very basic. I urge others to take the other reviewer's suggestions and look on into their more specialized versions of this varietal. I will too. I first had this Ravenswood Zin in 2003, and I had it in a restaurant in Juneau, the Fiddlehead - now unfortunately out of business, and paired with a seafood curry. wow, what a combo, what a meal, and it just went soooo well with this wine. I keep thinking this is going read more...

Bright and fruity with nice spice and oak. Very pleasant value Zinfandel. Crowd pleaser.
