Fruits and raisins in the nose and early mouth, opens up a bit later, but never very complex.
Works in a pinch, but overall too harsh for me. Think I paid $6 for the bottle though, so really, not that bad for what it is. Would drink it mixed with an Izze soda for sure!
Great deal at the local discount store. Definitely one of my faves, warm, round with lots of ripe red fruit notes.
Ravenswood Vintners Blend Zinfandel 2008: Again, an other Quality/Price winner, I also suggest this as an excellent introduction into the Zinfandel line, not too racy, not too smooth, tuned right in the middle with a hidden touch of sophistication. Shame on you if you're just taking a single glass.

Bright, flashy, ripe raspberry, blackberry and vanilla flavors are wrapped around a soft sweet fruit core highlighted by scents of cinnamon.
76% Zinfandel, 8% Petite Sirah, 8% Carignane, 8% Mixed BlacksRipe berry fruit in the nose follows concentrated flavors of blackberry and black cherry. A varietally focused Zinfandel with a touch of cinnamon and vanilla in the finish, this wine offers layers of flavor, a succulent center, balanced acids and structural tannins.
A zin that America loves, the Ravenswood Vintners Blend Zinfandel drinks easily and exhibits excellent ripe raspberry flavors; soft on the palate and easy on the pocketbook.
Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar ReviewRated 90-92Deep ruby. Smoky dark berry and cherry preserves on the nose, along with spicecake, roasted meat and dried rose. Quite ripe on the palate, with fleshy dark fruit flavors, chewy texture and slow-building spiciness. Packs serious flavor punch, not to mention impressive finishing cling and thrust. This needs full-flavored food.
Austere with herbal notes that work into core of berry flavors followed by dry earthy tannins which appear on the finish.
