Blend: 76% Cabernet Sauvignon, 9% Merlot,8% Syrah, 6% Malbec, 1% Cabernet Franc. The 2004 Sonoma County Cabernet Sauvignon is beautifully balanced with power andelegance. Fragrant cassis, black currant, cherries and spice tones dominate the complex aroma.Palate tastes of ripe cherries and vanilla from the French oak that is never cloying or heavy. Thefinish is bright, moderately tannic and very refined. The spice from the Cabernet Franc and themid-body weight from the Merlot are apparent and make this wine a beautifully confluentexperience. It will age nicely for ten to twelve years read more...

Ravenswood Cabernet Sauvignon is made to be aged. The wine is fermented for three to four weeks on the skins, allowing them to macerate even after the cap has sunk - a treatment that produces a lean, intense, well-structured, wine. The somewhat austere Cabernet is softened with Merlot and brightened with Cabernet Franc; up to two years in French oak adds a smoky, vanilla character. The resulting blend, which in some years is rather slow to develop, is always flavorful and complex, with an aromatic, spicy, brambly, mint quality and a slightly astringent finish. It will develop elegant bottle bouquet read more...
