Well, this wine had a lot of the "zips" and "zings" that I think a zinfandel should have, but strangely enough, they seemed to be in all the wrong places, and seemed to crash into each other, rather than flow with one another. so it just came out all wrong for me. That seems odd beings that it is a blend, and could be crafted in order for the different components to work together better Maybe since this is Ravenswood entry level wine with several higher options, they're just displaying a little bit of that zinfandel magic, but in way that will not fully satisfy (I wasn't satisfied, anyway), in order to prod people on to other levels.
Elder berry on the nose and pallet. Not much else to speak of. But a decent little wine.
A reasonable, tannic wine without the strong fruit that comes with a high end Zinfandel. Drinkable and good value, but somewhat dull.

A well-structured wine with charming, youthful fruit. The wine has spicy, ripe raspberry aromas and flavors of black cherry, mint and vanilla. It finishes crisp and clean.
Medium ruby; pleasant, floral, herbal, briary, toasty, raspberry fruit aroma with a hint of cigar-box; medium-full body; fairly big, rich, jammy, plummy, tarrish, high-extract flavors with good depth; lingering aftertaste. Above-average quality. Highly recommended.
A solid wine, with a firm texture and lots of plum and raspberry aromas and flavors. Hints at vanilla and turns a mite tannic on the finish, so probably best to drink after 1993.
Chewy Zin, with concentrated dried wild berry, dried raspberry and strawberry jam flavors. Pretty vanilla tones linger, along with modest tannins and a slight metallic note. Good value from a Zinfandel specialist. Drink now through 2006.
Deep ruby. Black raspberry, cherry and licorice aromas, with a whiff of dried flowers. A fresh midweight, offering sweet red and dark berry flavors and a hint of cracked pepper. Turns more tangy on the finish, which leaves brisk berry and cherry skin notes behind.
Straightforward, balanced and generous in flavor, echoing cherry and toast on a moderately long finish. Easy to approach but firm enough in texture to complement serious food.

This very tasty Rose is definitely a quaffer. Made with 100% Syrah grapes from the Russian River Valley, it's crisp, clean and refreshing and definitely not wimpy. Nit a sweetie, it's essentially dry with vivid flavors - think strawberry! Drink it cold!
