Dense ruby, with licorice, sweet cherry, and lavender notes, this full-bodied, admirably concentrated wine can be drunk now or over the next 10-12 years. <br/> <br/>One of the great estates of the Rhone Valley, Chateau Beaucastel has been run by several generations of the Perrin family. Their goal is to become the most recognized name for high quality wines in the southern Rhone. Nice raspberry fruit aromas, with toasted oak and a bit of sourness. The body is mostly acidic in the attack with rich fruit textures in the middle, of the apple/pear variety, and heavy dark chocolate notes. Slightly bitter finish. I really like how this wine is composed!

Tasting Notes - A pale golden-yellow hue. The nose is reminiscent of flowers with a touch of licorice and honey. The texture is very soft, elegant and ripe with flavors of ripe peach and licorice. Good acidity and a salty character at the end. This is a very typical Ch teauneuf-du-Pape White in a great vintage.

Dense ruby, with licorice, sweet cherry, and lavender notes, this full-bodied, admirably concentrated wine can be drunk now or over the next 10-12 years. According to the Wine Spectator: This delivers the ripe, plum, boysenberry and blueberry fruit profile of the vintage, with good underlying sweet toast and spice notes. Slightly raisiny on the finish, but there's enough fresh anise and rounded tannins to offset that. Drink now through 2011. 8,330 cases made.
