If you love Madeira and live in New York, don't buy this wine in state! I was visiting Boston and found this in a wine shop for a song. Its sister, the Boston Bual, had a $10 homer price premium.

Anyway, I've sung the praises of the Rare Wine Company's Historic Series elsewhere, but their New York Malmsey, the sweetest style of Madeira, is truly spectacular. A medium brown colored wine with a green tinted rim, this old beauty is full of delicious walnut, toffee, raisin and date flavors.
