Food Pairings for Raptor Ridge Pinot Noir Mcminnville Stony Mountain
Much bigger than the other two offerings. More fruit--raspberries, leather and dirt, mixed with a nice floral component. The additional year definitely served this wine well, as the two 2007 wines seemed too young to be very enjoyable.
"The 2006 Pinot Noir Willamette Valley is medium ruby-colored, andoffers up a toasty bouquet with cherry and raspberry aromas. Supple,easy-going, and ripe, the wine is made in a crowd-pleasing style fornear-term drinking. Raptor Ridges first vintage was in 1995.It owns 27 acres in the Chehalem Mountains AVA with 18 planted pluslong-term contracts. The winery is currently producing 6-7000 casesannually."89 pointsJay Miller, Wine Advocate #179, Oct. 2008"In 2006, grapes received quite a bit of hang time to develop a lush and hedonistic flavor profile. By the time the right flavors developed in the grapes, the potential alcohols had risen to high octane levels! At Raptor Ridge, we eschew watering and acidifying our wines, so please enjoy this once-in-a-decade vintage 2006."Winery Notes
