Rancho Zabaco Zinfandel California Dancing Bull 2006

Winemaker's Notes:

The wine is immediately approachable with lots of ripe dark fruit flavors of blackberry and black cherry complemented by bright red fruit flavors of raspberry and strawberry. Spicy notes of black pepper and vanilla add layers allow the fruits to shine. Winery

Dubbed “Tzabaco Rancho” by its owner, it was the basis for Rancho Zabaco’s name and future success. Founder and winemaker Eric Cinnamon devotes his time to the land, producing only the wines that grow best in the area: Sauvignon Blanc and Zinfandel. Their land in the Russian River Valley is devoted to Sauvignon Blanc, while Dry Creek Valley, the “Zin Zone,” consistently produces world-class Zinfandel. Read less

I rate it 87. Strong fruit, full body, nice nose, hint of sweet. Very satisfied for $8.99

Simple Zin that is less like a Zin than a Syrah without much stuffing. Black cherry aromas. Cherry flavors with a raspberry jam finish. Will try again tomorrow and see if it's gained some weight.

An awesome summer barbecue wine. Drank it with a piece of steak, and rice. Good level of spice, pepper and flavor. Great value

I have always enjoyed Rancho Zabaco wines.. This one was decent, have had better even in this price range, but also had worse. Not a bad Zin.

Wine Tasting NotesThe wine is immediately approachable with lively raspberry and black cherry fruit. Dancing Bull Zinfandel has hints of black pepper and soft, supple tannins. An extremely versatile and approachable wine, it that pairs well with marinara sauce, grilled chicken or barbecue beef. With its bright, vibrant fruit flavors and zesty personality, this wine can go with just about any dish!

Entry-level Zin for anyone who wants to get their feet wet. A bit lighter and friendlier than most, this Zinfandel nonetheless shows varietally typical flavors of bramble and dark fruits. Its relatively muted tannins (for a Zin, that is) make it an extremely versatile food wine.
