Ramsay Cabernet Sauvignon North Coast 2016

Winemaker's Notes:

"The 2016 Ramsay North Coast Cabernet Sauvignon continues our tradition of great, drinkable and truly enjoyable fine wine. 2016 was an excellent year for grape-growing in California’s North Coast and it truly shows in this wine. From the start of the season until the end we had day after day of beautiful sunshine, blue skies and fresh and fragrant air. The vines responded by giving us a small, but perfect crop." -Winery notes

Kent Rasmussen Notes: The 2015 Ramsay North Coast Cabernet Sauvignon continues our tradition of great, drinkable and truly enjoyable fine wine. 2015 was a stunning year for grape-growing in California’s North Coast and it truly shows in this wine. From the start of the season until the end we had day after day of beautiful sunshine, blue skies and fresh and fragrant air. The vines responded by giving us a small, but perfect crop. For years, I have been finding better and better grapes for all of our Ramsay wines. This wine is made from is a blend of grapes grown in vineyards in Napa, Sonoma and Lake Counties in California’s North Coast. I beleive that this area is matched only, perhaps, by Bordeaux as the finest environment for growing premium Cabernet Sauvignon anywhere on earth. Each vineyard adds a nuance to the whole and the result is an amazingly complex, yet totally accessible wine. I hope you enjoy drinking this wine as much as I have enjoyed making it. Blend: 97% Cabernet Sauvignon 3% Merlot Alcohol: 13.61% pH: 3.83

The 2014 Ramsay Cabernet Sauvignon was a fun wine to make. For years now, I have been searching California’s North Coast high-and-low for really nice vineyards farmed by really engaged farmers who value quality above all else in their work. At this point I feel like I have found a set of grapes that, year after year, are providing the blended, synergistic spectrum of flavors and smells that I think makes up really good Cabernet. Most of the fruit comes from Sonoma, but there are a couple of vineyard lots from the Napa Valley, Lake County and even one from California’s center that make the harmonious whole. Blend: 93% Cabernet Sauvignon 4% Merlot 3% Petite Sirah Appellation: 76% Sonoma 10% Lake 6% Napa Alcohol: 13.63%
