Ramos Pinto Late Bottled Vintage Portwein 2008

Member Review by chriscage:

Intense ruby coloration and with striking legs, this has loads of juicy Welch's grape juice and plum/raisin fruits on the aromas....slightly boozy upon opening but this mellows out shortly thereafter. The flavors follow suit and along with all of the aforementioned characteristics, there is a very nice licorice root/Earthy quality about it....not too sweet overall. Exceptionally smooth mouthfeel and medium bodied, this makes a very nice dessert wine, but makes a great accompaniment to a sharp cheddar and/or dark chocolate!
