Winemaker's Notes:

Rainer Wess is a new addition to our portfolio in 2009. He has made great progress since his first vintage in 2003. He has a small vineyard of his own which he has replanted, but most of his wine is made from fruit grown for him - under his own supervision - from seven winegrowers throughout the Wachau Valley. He makes about 50,000 bottles in his small winery in Unterloiben. The wines have the unmistakeable aromatic minerality of Wachau, and the style is firm, dry and enticing. This young producer is now making very good wines and we believe they will be a great complement to the rest of our Austrian portfolio.
