Radog Pinot Noir Central Coast 2006
Winemaker's Notes:
The Radog rosé is a soft and round rosé with bright flavors of watermelon, strawberry, and raspberry and a hint of peppery spices. Made as a saignée from cedar Lane vineyard fruit, and we love this wine's color and concentration. The wine is fermented in neutral French oak barrels to create extra texture but retaining fresh fruit and acidity.

In a world of mass produced products, Radog stands out by handcrafting small lots of wine from carefully selected family owned vineyards. Traditional techniques and the finest French barrels are used for aging. Radog has a passion for winemaking and loves to give his friends a great deal.

Add your reviewBlack tar and cranberries on the nose with a distinctive herbaceous quality. Bright, fresh, acidic palate ruled by bunches of red fruit, cranberries, leather, tire tracks, and earth. Not too much tannic structure on this one, as long as you can get past/if you like the bitterness it's pretty easy drinking. Doesn't really need food, but might benefit from some cheese nearby.
This is not your typical spicy or piquant pinot noir. Entirely drinkable on its own, a refreshing, light, supple stand alone, or inspiring compliment to anything you can think of. Picnic to 4 star meal. I keep a case on hand permanently in rotation. Yes, its that tasty.
I'm not sure the owner/winemaker should be rating his own wines on Snooth. 5 glasses? Is there objectivity in this or rather, pride (all definitions)?

"One of the best Pinots under $30" a consumer recently told us, and we'd have to agree. Our latest Pinot Noir exhibits a lively nose of cranberry, earth, and strawberry on top of a nice sprinkling of French oak base. Great acidity lifts the fruit on the palate, too, keeping our Pinot balanced on a perfect wave of texture and structure. Perfect for drinking now.

This brambly, fruit-forward offering comes from Monterey, California. Full of raspberries on the nose and refreshingly not over-oaked, this Pinot is soft enough to drink alone, yet it can hold its own with food as well.
