Rabbit Ridge Zinfandel Westside Paso Robles 2006

Winemaker's Notes:

WINEMAKER'S COMMENTS We added a judicious amount of Petite Sirah to our 2006 Zinfandel for more color and body. The wine was held on the skins for an extended period of time and then pressed into American and French Oak barrels where it stayed until May 2007 when it was bottled. As with all our wines, this Zinfandel has all natural acid, which produces much rounder and smoother wine than those produced with acid additions. TASTING NOTES This Zinfandel has the typical Rabbit Ridge jammy and spicy character with pronounced blackberry and raspberry overtones. It is big bodied with soft tannins and a round finish. This 2006 Zinfandel is best consumed young while the jammy flavors are still very fresh. Enjoy during this winter with hardy and spicy dishes and at your spring and summertime barbeques.

Rabbit Ridge Winery & Vineyards:
All of our vineyards in Paso Robles are located on the west side of highway 101. Erich believes this area of limited water, shallow, rugged, rocky, calcareous soils will produce some of the finest wines in Paso Robles, and among the finest in California. Erich planted his vineyards precisely throughout the Paso Robles appellation to take advantage of the unique micro climates and soil characteristics that would best suit each grape variety.

Really enjoyed this inexpensive full-bodied zinfandel right out of the bottle especially given the price.
