Rabbit Ridge Paso Robles Sarah's Syrah Reserve 2004

Winemaker's Notes:

Our 2004 Paso Robles Sarah's Syrah, Russell Family vineyard reserve is produced from grapes grown on our Live oak Road vineyard in the hills on the north side of Highway 46 West. This vineyard is one of the highest in Paso Robles, located at 1,600 feet elevation. In addition, this vineyard has large amounts of limestone in the soil with an average soil pH of approximately 8. From the Live oak vineyard come three different clones of Syrah; Estrella, Tablas Creek and Entav 877. These vines are planted in three distinctly different locations within the vineyard and the fruit ripens as much as three weeks apart.

Rabbit Ridge Winery & Vineyards:
All of our vineyards in Paso Robles are located on the west side of highway 101. Erich believes this area of limited water, shallow, rugged, rocky, calcareous soils will produce some of the finest wines in Paso Robles, and among the finest in California. Erich planted his vineyards precisely throughout the Paso Robles appellation to take advantage of the unique micro climates and soil characteristics that would best suit each grape variety.
Suggested Recipe Pairing presented by
Coconut Rice Sweet Potato Cheesecake

RiceSelect's creamy Arborio gets blended with sweet potato, coconut milk and vanilla to create this decadent cheesecake. Pairs well with Saunternes; a white dessert wine that has hints of coconut from aging in oak barrels.
