Rabbit Ridge Allure de Robles 2010
One of the founding ldquo;Rhone Rangersrdquo; in Paso Robles, Rabbit Ridge is famous for this Grenache-Syrah-Mourvedre blend. Bright red fruit, gentle spice and great structure mdash; therersquo;s nothing not to like about this wine! Full-flavored, but not heavy or tannic, the Allure is a great sipping red, but it also works well with pork, beef or grilled vegetable dishes.Add winemaker's notes
Three and a half glasses
Beautiful burgundy colour with a fantastic plum, blackberry and blackcurrent nose. Medium bodied, a slight pleasant sweetness on the palate, and all the flavours from the nose, plus a slight peppery note which increases slightly as the palate lengthens. I had this with a main of Carbonara, which didn't really work - the pepper from the wine and the pepper from the pasta accentuated each other beyond the sum of their parts and drowned out the rest of the Carbonara. It was almost sweet enough to go with my fruit crumble and ice cream desert, but the sweetness of the desert is too much for it. At $5 from Trader Joe's this was amazing!
This was a great buy. I picked up a couple of bottles in the discount bid at Von's for around $3. I found the wine to be smooth, well balanced with good up front fruit. In short, a very good weeknight wine!
Very berry with a rich flavor. Medium depth.
Infinitely drinkable, perfect blend. Best buy I've ever encountered.
Pleasantly surprised and great value, would definitey buy again.

Following the footsteps of the famous Cotes du Rhone of southern France, this delicious blend utilizes a combination of grape varietals to achieve this light, but exciting red wine. Allure is aged in oak barrels, allowing it to be extremely complex, yet its rich, soft and supple flavors present an attractive alternative to the many tannic wines available in the market.
