One of the more fun wines to enjoy. Jammy with a kick!

What an incredible wine! The Southern Belle Shiraz was aged for 18 months in Pappy Van Winkle whiskey barrels. The color is deep crimson with aromas of spice cake and ripe dark fruit. Upon tasting, the rich ripe berries explode upon the palate with structured layers of oak and spice. Dense and jammy, this is what Australian Shiraz is all about. This is a wine that has a real kick to it… not for the timid wine drinker! Gotta have a thick, juicy blackened steak with this one.

The deepest, most intense red you will probably ever taste! This is no dainty and passive Belle — with an inky, almost black, hue and heady black currant, spice and molasses scents, it’s intoxicating even before you take your first sip. Incredibly dark and luscious mouthfeel, overflowing with dark berry fruits, anise, smoke and black pepper.

The 2008 Southern Belle Shiraz was aged in seasoned oak including some ex-bourbon barrels. A glass-coating opaque purple, it displays a nearly room-filling nose of smoke, game, incense, and blueberry that leaps from the glass. Opulent and full-bodied on the palate, it lacks only complexity. Drink it over the next 6–8 years. It is an outstanding value.
