R Wines Shiraz First Class 2005

Winemaker's Notes:

The wine is a lively, dense, ruby red in color. It has intensely perfumed fruit characters and is brambly with ripe black cherry. There are slight hints of cinnamon spiciness & light mocha. The juicy, fleshy palate finishes with ripe tannins.

Wow ... opened a bottle of this last night and was blown away. I gave this a 4.5 out of 5 simply because at the price point this is an amazing wine. Value wise I'd be hard pressed to find something better. Throw in great packaging and this is just a great everyday wine.

Great wine that is drinkable by white and red wine lovers. Good flavors could drink this all night.

Luscious, rich and jammy. Super strong berries up front and a lingering finish. Fruit bomb? Sure. Who cares though... it's dee-lish.

This is a fruit forward Shiraz with incredibly soft and balanced tannins. This wine stacks up well against much higher priced competitors.

The 2005 Shiraz was aged in French and American oak for 12 months. Purple-colored, it is very expressive, with a nose of smoke, spice box, blackberry, and blueberry jam. Layered, supple-textured, sweet, and full-bodied, this seamless, crowd-pleasing ... Robert Parker. A Syrah wine from South Australia in Australia. 2005 R Winery Boarding Pass Shiraz 750ml

Big brother to the Boarding Pass Shiraz, this one is big, rich, and opulent.
