R Wines Pinot Noir Permutations 2008
Winemaker's Notes:
Brendan's Buzz Rated 93 For years I have been hearing about how great the Pinot Noirs from Australia are. I have seen some potential, but the hype has not lived up to the actual glass. Until now. This is hands down the BEST Pinot Noir I have ever had from Australia, but besides that its just a amazing pinot at an awesome recession busting value price. It's like a cross, with the elegance of a New Zealand Pinot with the robustness of a Somona Coast Pinot. A rich heady nose with developing aromas of earth, cherry and raspberry, with a smooth silky palate and a long finish. I tasted this wine not really expecting much and when Dave our internet manager saw my eyes light up, he made a bee line over to see what I was tasting and was equally impressed. Welcome to the newest generation of delicious Pinot Noir. Wine Tasting Notes A light, bright and fresh Pinot Noir, well structured with savory, complex characters and nice texture. Rich plum, red berries, beetroot and herbal notes on the nose, with berries and rosemary following on the palate. Subtle, sweet dark fruit, toasty oak and fruit of the forest.

Bright, medium red. Alluring, spicy raspberry and cherry aromas are complicated by white pepper and fresh floral qualities; smells like a Chambolle. Nervy red fruit flavors are impressively precise and gain sweetness and depth with air. Offers true pinot finesse and texture, with no rough edges or excess weight. A juicy, arrestingly pure wine, with excellent finishing clarity, bite and lingering sweetness. This is an excellent value in pinot noir, from anywhere.
