R Wines Grenache Barossa Valley Chateau Chateau Chateau 2008

Member Review by Wine Fire:

The nose opens with aromas of pepper, clay, fresh-cut sappy oak and sage. The palate launches with a woodsy top, hovering over a tart cherry center, with strong, dominating black pepper and notes of Worcester and Soy sauce showing in the lengthy, spicy finish. This wine is perched in the R-Wine Chateau Chateau series between Island Ebenezer (the hottest) and David and Goliath (the mildest), with more earthiness than either. At two hours, cherry emerges nicely in the center to balance pepper on the back, and this beautiful Grenache achieves new elegance and balance. This wine shows best between 2 and 3 hours, peaking in terms of balance and integration at 3.
