The Chalk Hill estate has a track record for growing exceptional Chardonnay. This latest release, made by Bill Knuttel, is robust in style and saturated with flavor, the rich texture of the fruit checked by earthy yeastiness. the lemon curd and corn silk flavors hold the fruit ripeness and acidity as a creamy, integrated whole. A seductive wine to enjoy with seared scallops over truffled mashed potatoes.

Winemaker's Notes:

The wine boasts intense aromas of Asian pear, green apple, toasted hazelnut and integrated oak. Our signature combination of richness and elegance is evidenced by the creamy, crisp flavors of lemon pie, and exotic spice, all buoyed by the bright, fresh acidity.

Tasting Notes:

Our 2009 Sauvignon Blanc captures the character of the variety, the complexity of our site and the coolness of the vintage. The nose offers peach, mango, Butterscotch Melon and lemon. The flavors add mango, passion fruit, and Musque to the mix. While this Sauvignon Blanc is ripe and powerful, it also possesses the ample structure and acidity to age.
