Winemaker's Notes:

Our Chardonnay is produced primarily from grapes grown in our estate vineyards in the Dunnigan Hills American Viticultural Area of Yolo County, a premium grape-growing region located due east of Napa Valley. The balance of the fruit is sourced from carefully selected North Coast vineyards. Winemaking Following our traditional practice of night-harvesting to maximize freshness and purity, we press the grapes and cold-settle the juice at 40°F. for 48 hours before racking it off the gross lees and warming it to 55°F. We then inoculate the juice with several cultured yeast strains to intensify our Chardonnay’s complex aromas, lush mouthfeel, and rich fruit, and transfer the juice to 59-gallon barrels for a one-month fermentation. Once fermentation is completed, the new wine is aged on the yeast lees for seven months in a combination of French, American and other European oak barrels, with bi-weekly stirring of the lees (bâtonnage) to enhance its creamy texture and soften its toasted oak flavors. Winemaker's Note Our Chardonnay leads with fresh, ripe pear and tropical fruit aromas that carry hints of mango and vanilla. The round, smooth palate features luscious stone fruit and tropical fruit flavors complemented by toasty oak tones. Characteristically round, smooth, and luscious, it culminates in a lingering, toasty-vanilla finish
