Qupe Chardonnay Santa Maria Valley Bien Nacido Vineyard Y Block 2015

Winemaker's Notes:

Great balance with bright acidity are the trademark of this wine. The Bien Nacido Y Block Chardonnay is barrel fermented in 25% new Burgundy barrels, which frame the crisp apple and Asian pear flavors with a lovely savory, buttered toast finish. Pairs well with just about anything! Not yet reviewed; 2014 vintage rated 91 points by Wine Enthusiast: One of the first releases since Charles Banks invested in Bob Lindquist's pioneering brand, this wine shows Japanese apple, lemon blossoms, lightly browned butter and a touch of tropicality on the nose. Still a bit wound up, the wine conveys potential length, with green-apple skins, nectarine flesh, cement-like minerality and a chive herb lift.
