What to Expect
Grenache is the main grape in many Rhone blends and most Cotes du Rhone and Chateaunuef-du-pape. It's a grape that yields soft, lightly colored yet full wines endowed with deep notes of strawberry and raspberry. While not prone to producing particularly rich or complex wines in France, Grenache is one of the world's most widely-planted grapes, producing unique expression where ever it is planted. It is particularly common in Spain as Garnacha, and Sardinia, as Canonnau,
Editorial Reviews
Very fresh on the nose with youthfully estery fruit and a strong floral top note. The alcohol is a bit noticeable here though there are lovely sp[ice tones on softly jammy fruit with just a touch of cool melon adding freshness. Front loaded with fruit and surprisingly crisp in the mouth with crunchy fruit and some nice earth and tree bark tones across the midpalate which set off the slightly jammy wild red berry fruits well. Good acid and just a touch of tannin with decent length and finishing with light spice notes and a gentle insinuation of vanilla. Well made and easy drinking. Biodynamic too! 87pts
