Quintarelli Valpolicella Classico Superiore 2009

Winemaker's Notes:

WHWC Staff Notes: Their Amarone may be the flagship wine at this estate, but it is the Valpolicella that created a revolution in the thinking about what was possible to produce in this region. This amazing bottle of wine is the benchmark Valpolicella. A blend of 55% Corvina, 30% Rondinella, 15% Cabernet Sauvignon, Nebbiolo, Croatina, and Sangiovese made in the Ripasso style. The wine is aged in large Slavonian oak barrels for seven years before release. Once in the glass, layers of flavor and complexity beguile the drinker, ultimately giving way to a long and nuanced finish. Yes, this is the current release. -Matt Bayless, 5/20/17
