Very dark purplish crimson. Low key, quite savoury nose. Rather sophisticated and mellow on the nose - surprisingly so for a vintage port at this stage of its life. Not the sweetest or most intense. Very dry finish. But very confident. Lots of tannin! Neat and introvert but convincing. Later note: A bit tired and heavy on nose but intriguing. Peppery with good attack. Not the biggest but all the elements are there. A bit light on the finish. This is a new bottling from Quinta do Portal, only provisionally named Quinta do Portal II, based heavily on a particular parcel of Touriga Nacional that was just read more...
