Although not a Declared Vintage, 2005 is a very promising Vesuvio, withcharacteristic haunting aromas of violets, undergrowth and black chocolate anda rich densely textured palate, a silky bed of roses with savoury notes oftruffle, charcuterie and morello cherry all evidenced. Authoritative tanninsand a rich resonant finish complete the picture, a picture of most pleasingdesign that will hold its head high when, eventually, Berry's get round topresenting a complete vertical tasting of the phenomenon that is QuintaDo Vesuvio.
