Food Pairings for Quinta Do Vallado Douro Tinto
Gold Medal Wine Club selection. The Quinta do Vallado 2005 Douro Red was produced from Portugal’s Douro region, the world’s oldest appellation and considered Portugal’s premium wine region. The blend is dark red plum in color with crimson highlights and concentrated aromas of mature red fruits, rock-rose, violets, and local herbs. Awarded 88 Points by Wine Spectator magazine, this wine has mouthfilling flavors of red plum, dark cherry and berry notes. On the palate, the Douro Red is medium to full bodied with great structure and mature round tannins that lead into a long finish with slight smoky notes. Try pairing the Quinta do Vallado 2005 Douro Red with light meat dishes such as pork, or flavorful hard cheeses.
