Quinta Do Noval Porto Vintage 2000
The nose has complexity and power in combination - a sure sign of a title contender. Despite this apparently heavyweight nature, however, we have immediately obvious elegance on the palate. This is underpinned by fine tannins and piles of dark fruits. And enveloping it all is a creamy mouthfeel which builds in intensity.

(Barrel tasting) Impressive aromas of crushed blackberry, mineral and dried flowers. Intense and deep. Full-bodied, very sweet and dense on the palate, with big, round tannins and a long finish.
The 2007 Quinta do Noval Vintage Port is a star of the vintage. Dense purple-colored, it gives up an already complex aromatic array of lavender, Asian spices, incense, and an amalgam of black fruits with a hint of chocolate in the background. Plush and mouth-filling, this large-scaled Port manages an uncanny blending of elegance and power. Long and savory in the finish, it will continue to blossom for another 20+ years and drink well through its 50th birthday if not longer.
Saturated deep ruby. Sweet aromas of black cherry, cassis, licorice, molasses, minerals, toffee and violet. Dense, sweet and pliant, with outstanding precision and depth of flavor. Like the Silval, this boasts a seductively creamy texture. The explosive, mounting finish offers a fine dusting of ripe, suave tannins and great breadth. Deceptively easy to taste today owing to its finesse, but itrsquo;s hard to believe that it wonrsquo;t shut down in bottle in the near future. This wine features a particularly high percentage of touriga nacional.
Very fine young Port. Fascinating aromas of crushed fruit, tar and wet earth. Turns floral. Full-bodied, medium sweet, with chewy, velvety tannins and a long finish. Grips your mouth. A balanced and caressing Noval. Best after 2012.
The inky, purple-colored, opaque 2003 Quinta do Noval Vintage Port soars from the glass, revealing dates, black cherries, copious flowers, and plums. Full-bodied, broad, and lush, this top-flight wine is harmonious and exhibits stupendous purity of fruit. Blueberries, cherries, and candied strawberries can be found in its nuanced, lengthy, plum-laced core as well as in its immensely long, dried berry-tinged finish. Drink this beauty between 2020 and 2045+.
Offers intense aremas of squeezed tangerine, blackberry and blueberry. Very complex. Full-bodied, medium sweet and chewy. Extracted yet balanced, with an intense fruity and grapey character. Tight and reserved on the finish. Best after 2015.
A pure fruited wine, with an unusual touch of toast and new wood. The fruit is well structured with flavors of thyme and rosemary. This is a smooth, polished Port, which is definitely in a modern style of winemaking.
