Food Pairings for Quinta Do Noval Port Blend Porto Vintage
Medium dark ruby color with a purplish meniscus. Given enough time in decanter, I’d have no problem sipping an entire bottle of this wine today with my wife as she’d love this style. Even though it is easy-to-enjoy now, the structural components deliver the goods and this will be a stellar wine to keep in the cellar until around 2025 when it should start to reach its peak. Yummy and impressive taste and mouthfeel, with a finish that is long and memorable.

Sadly the production was absurdly small (approximately 800 cases) as the new owners France s AXA want to make a qualitative statement - immediately. Opaque ruby/purple-colored with fabulous purity and richness full body moderate sweetness layers of jammy fruit and well-integrated alcohol. There is some tannin in the finish but this is a large-scaled authoritatively flavored as well as elegant example of port that needs cellaring. Anticipated maturity: 2004-2035. Amazingly the importer still has tiny stocks of such legendary ports as the 1970 1963 and 1962 Nacionals. In most vintages the production of Quinta do Noval Nacional is no more than 250-275 cases. The 1970 1963 1962 and 1994 are candidates to achieve perfect scores. The 1994 Nacional is an incredibly rich massive wine yet at the same time well-balanced and amazingly well-delineated. The color is an opaque purple. In addition to the abundant peppery floral cassis fruit there is an ethere
