Quinta Do Noval Late Bottled Vintage Port 2008

Winemaker's Notes:

This wine is a remarkable example of the Noval style. Treated exactly like a Vintage Port with only noble grape varieties from the Quinta, trodden by foot and unfiltered. Its main difference is that it is aged for four, sometimes five years in wooden vats instead of the two years typical of Vintage Ports. Definitely an LBV with a difference, with fine structured tannins, great freshness and purity of fruit. It is delicious to drink today, but will age beautifully in its bottle.

The Quinta, which is principally situated in the valley of the small Pinhao river, a tributary of the Douro, has approximately 145 hectares of vines, ranging in altitude from 100 metres, at the level of the Pinhao river, to 350 metres at the summit of the valley. The Quinta is approached by a long drive, covered by trellised vines. This is the first view of the quinta that you see as you drive up. Read less

Rich aromas and flavors of crushed berries, red fruits, sweet spices and raisins meet structured tannins. The finish is long and harmonious. - Winery
