Quinta Do Noval Late Bottled Vintage Port 2005

Winemaker's Notes:

Deep rich ruby color with intense nose of crushed berries and red fruits. Rich and elegant on the palate with spice, raisins and red fruit flavours. Well balanced with a velvety but firm tannic structure that leads to a luscious long finish. Ideally served as an accompaniment to cheese, dessert, or on its own at the end of a meal. This wine is unfiltered and will continue to develop in the bottle. As a result, it may throw a light deposit and need decanting.

As you approach the entrance to the quinta from Pinhão, you will see the famous broad terraces of Quinta do Noval on the right. The Quinta, which is principally situated in the valley of the small Pinhao river, a tributary of the Douro, has approximately 145 hectares of vines, ranging in altitude from 100 metres, at the level of the Pinhao river, to 350 metres at the summit of the valley. The Quinta is approached by a long drive, covered by trellised vines. This is the first view of the quinta that you see as you drive up. Read less
