Quinta Do Monte d'Oiro Reserve 2003

External Review by Astor Wines & Spirits:

This estate looks to the Rhône to set its standard. The wine (mostly Syrah with a touch of Viognier à la Côte-Rôtie) spends a year in 100% new French oak, giving it a cedar-y quality that will mellow over time. On the palate, the wine is pulpy and rife with dark fruit and thick tannins.
