Quinta Do Feital White Blend Vinho Verde Alvarinho/Trajadura Auratus 2007

Winemaker's Notes:

Some of the best and oldest Albario vineyards are actually in Portugal directly across the river from Spain. So when the young Gallego winemaker Marcial Dorado set out to make the finest Albario of all he crossed the river. Overlooking the town of Melgao he had discovered a 70-year-old Albario vineyard the likes of which he couldnt find in Spain. He purchased the vineyard naming it Quinta do Dorado. Marcial had carefully observed the practices at Rias Baixas wineries he admired and he adapted those lessons to his new estate.

Good smooth white, great for summer cook-outs. Refreshing.

A blend of Alvarinho and Trajadura, Auratus is a Portuguese white that goes beyond your traditional Vinho Verde. Very clean and fresh, this has notes of honey and ripe apples, with vivid acidity and mineral notes.
