Quinta de Cabriz Dao Escolha Virgilio Loureiro 2016

Editorial Review by Gregory Dal Piaz:

A blend of Malvasia Fina , Cerceal ,Bical and Encruzado , half fermented in stainless steel, half in French oak Fairly yeasty on the nose with a gentle leesy base note under clean and very fresh citrus fruits. On the palate one finds plenty of creamy citrus flavors with a light melon accent note and a hint of minerality. Full of tangy lime on the finish, this shows lovely clarity and freshness in a light, refreshing style. 86pts

This was an incredibly easy drinking wine at a great value. A juicy red wine bursting with ripe fruit flavors. A great pair for food.

Beautiful wine. Great fruit notes and Asian spice. Its a must buy. Can't pass this up for its price.

This is a good $10.00 wine. Great buy @ $6.00 Wine Library in Springfield NJ is selling for $6.00 / bottle. it's a good every day wine for low budget consumption. Actually opens up after 2-3 hours. Enjoy with most heart friendly meals. Medium body nice blend with a little length.

A blend of 20% Malvasia-Fina, 40% Encruzado, 20% Cerceal, and 20% Bical fermented in stainless steel tanks and older French oak barrels with aging on the lees. A powerfully aromatic nose of ripe tropical fruits like tangerine, small sweet ripe bananas, papayas, guava, and also "Juicy Fruit" bubblegum. The flavorful palate is just a touch more reserved than the nose with white peach, nectarine, and a rich creamy effect probably due to the lees aging. Dry, full bodied, bright acidity in perfect balance with the fruit, and a long juicy finish. A great pairing with quince jam and Portugal's most famous cheese Serra da Estrela from the region Dão. 4.5/5

A big juicy red blend with a soft finish that surprised me. Winemaker Carlos Lucas knows what he is doing. Well worth the $14.99 I paid for it.
