I tried the wine at the release party as well as opened a bottle a week ago. Consistent notes with medium body, dark cassis fruit, and somewhat integrated tannins. I feel this wine needs time in the bottle to show its full potential. I'd wait until mid 2010 before opening one. History shows that the Quilceda folks make great wine !!

Velvety and generous. A supple, insinuating style, with coffee and bittersweet chocolate accents around a beautifully contained core of ripe currant, plum and cherry fruit. Has great presence, balance and harmony. The finish expands impressively against a veil of firm tannins and well-integrated oak flavors. Best from 2010 through 2020.

Very ripe and generous. Not a big wine, but brims with plum, currant, black olive, cedar and roasted meat flavors, all playing against crisp tannins and lingering on the tight finish. Needs time in the cellar in order to open and flourish. Best from ... Wine Spectator. A Cabernet Sauvignon wine from Washington in USA. 2006 Quilceda Creek Cabernet Sauvignon 1500ml

A rich, multi-layered Cabernet that will age like a fine Bordeaux.

The flagship 2006 Cabernet Sauvignon comes predominantly from the famous Champoux Vineyard in which the winery is a partner. It was aged in 100% new oak. It sports a deep purple-color with a captivating nose of spice box, sandalwood, truffle, Asian spices, incense, black cherry, and black currant. Opulent on the palate (but elegant as well), it already reveals serious complexity, density, and succulence of fruit. Enjoyable now but with at least 8-10 years of cellaring potential, this marvelous effort should have a 30 year lifespan.
