Very dark, intense color. Lots of black fruit, pepper and spice. Very nicely balanced, with controlled tannins. Terrific nose, and a long finish. I like smoky Malbecs, but this had very little smoke flavors, which I didn't miss at all. I had this with some very good turkey chili I made with chocolate for a great mole flavor and it paired wonderfully. And it was also terrific by itself. Not the most complex Malbec I've had, but still a very enjoyable wine and a very good value. Definitely decant.

Fragrant and balanced with notes of currants and spice. Very easy to drink. This is one of the better values I've come across recently and about as much complexity as you'll find for $10.

Would not decant this. Despite initial appearances it is actually not all that big and will become uninteresting quickly if left out.

Number 91 on the Wine.com 100 of 2007! Color, power, flavor and commendable balancd; that's pretty much the format for Punto Final, one of Argentina's go-to brands for Malbec... The Malbec grapes are sourced from two mountain vineyards, both planted more than 50 years ago. The grapes are hand-harvested into small lugs, hand-sorted, crushed and cold-macerated at the winery for 4 days. The wine is then fermented at controlled temperatures with native yeasts in stainless steel for 15 days and inoculated with the winery's own malolactic organisms. After this it is aged for 8 months, read more...
