AWE blind tasting - really fine herbal note at first, a touch of bacon and black pepper, lovely bouquet garni nose, cool entry, lovely light medium bodied feel, a bit toward the drying grass end of the spectrum, fine granular tannins, good acids, moderately intense fruit, 87-88

Vintage: 2006 09/16/2011

2004 vintage- Aromas of baked blueberries and grape bubble gum waft out of the glass like an evening fog. A touch of heat singes the nostrils but the fruit notes satisfy nonetheless. A food wine for sure, the tannins are present but have assimilated themselves to the point where they fade after a few seconds. The baked blueberry transforms into rhubarb and spiced raspberry and goes down smooth, with a touch of that heat on the finish. Drink over the next four-six years. Pair with a filet mignon with a light bearnaise sauce.

95 points - 'Highly Recommended,' Wine Spectator: This concentrated, well-toned red is packed with cherry, plum, soy and spice aromas and flavors. Round and balanced, with a sweet berry and mineral aftertaste. Really builds nicely, gaining elegance and intensity. The fine aftertaste of cherry, tobacco and woodsy notes lingers. Best from 2014 through 2027. Tasted twice, with consistent notes. 1,400 cases made. (4/30/12)
