Puerto Viejo Carmenere 2010
Member Review by Georgia Rhythm:
Simply put, this wine is one of the most pleasant surprises of all time, not only for the price, but also for its balance, finish and marvelous ability to complement lamb, pork tenderloin, Bleu and Asiago cheeses. While a bit earthy on the nose, this vintage was silky and boasted a long finish rarely found in such a young wine. If your palette has a bit of "Old World" to it and you enjoy Burgundies then I believe you'll enjoy this wine. We had a blind tasting of 2008 Carmenere with seven on the panel, and this was the overwhelming choice. Spectacular!
